Our mission is to impact the baseball community by creating a positive learning environment where young players can develop FUNdamentals and high character.
Watch THBA Director Frank Torre discuss the THBA difference on ESPN WPTV.
Without having FUN, we know it doesn't matter to a young player how much we know about baseball. We are intentional about "learning by doing" so every attendee remains engaged. We keep it simple and focused on FUNdamentals. Students learn the 6F's of playing the infield and a sound approach to hitting focused on balance, good timing and a short, compact swing. Proper throwing mechanics are stressed daily as well as endless drills to improve every players Baseball IQ. Most importantly, we skillfully weave life lessons and encouragement into all facets of our program!
With 18 years and over 10,000 participants, our game plan has withstood the test of time. And, we've managed to get some pretty impressive results. Current pros such as Taylor Motter and Tim Lynch are among the hundreds of loyal THBA alumni who can trace their roots back to our camps and have gone onto play at the high school, college or even professional level. Who will be next?
All THBA campers are automatically enrolled in the Fins & Feathers Kids Club. We've scanned the globe, and can't find a better facility to host a baseball camp. Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium has a dozen practice fields with all the amenities! The THBA uses the suites, party deck and even the main field on Fridays! Our campers train next to the pros!
In addition to Frank Torre and Brian Justine, our camp features contributions and instruction from former and current professional players. Brian Schneider pictured above) , Carl Pavano, Rick Ankiel all made guest appearances last summer. And of course, surprise appearances from Tommy Hutton himself.
We're educators first! Most instructional programs go wrong by having players in huge groups. Not us, we build lasting relationships, keep the camp safe, and connect with players by keeping ratios low!
