Sold out Thanksgiving camp features local star

The Tommy Hutton Baseball Academy held its annual Thanksgiving break camp from November 27 through November 29 at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter. Filled with drills and award winning FUNdamental instruction, 75 local and out of town players took part in the three day program. Among the many highlights were visits from two Major Leaguers, local product Tyler Kinley of the Miami Marlins (pictured) and baseball legend Tommy Hutton himself. Rising prospect Evan Mendoza of the St. Louis Cardinals was also on hand to instruct throughout the week.
“We had an incredibly fun and productive week of camp. Having Evan Mendoza on staff and being able to interact with major leaguers like Mr. Hutton and Tyler Kinley helped us create an experience that our students will remember for a very long time!” explained THBA GM Brian Justine.
Kinley, a south Florida native who attended Nova HS and Barry University, is one of just a handful of hometown players to make it all the way to the big leagues with the Marlins. Kinley shared his amazing story with the camp followed by photos and autographs.
Congratulations to Fisher Knapp who was selected as the Player of the Week. The THBA returns to action for Winter Skills camp scheduled for December 30-January 3rd. MLB Veteran Brian Schneider will be on hand to teach a hitting class and sign autographs. Registration is underway at www.huttobaseball.com.
