Meet the Staff: Ruairi Murphy

Since 2000, the “secret sauce” the THBA has used to continue to operate successful camps is hiring the best possible people to mentor our students. Our 2018 staff is once again loaded with quality individuals who not only know the game but also take their responsibility as role models and caretakers very serious. This summer’s staff includes local standouts Jack Iervolino (Dwyer/St. Pete JC), Justin Alintoff (Dwyer/Florida) , Danny Lynch (Dwyer/Southern Miss) and July’s featured instructor, Ruairi Murphy (Dwyer/Jacksonville).
Coach Murphy has been assigned the task of leading our Rookie division where the focus is keeping baseball fun and keeping our 5-6 year old campers excited about baseball and the THBA. No easy task, Coach Murphy’s patience, kindness and calm demeanor have made him a huge hit with camp participants and parents.
“Ruairi is the type of young man we are so proud to have affiliated with the THBA. He shows up on time everyday with a great attitude and clearly has a greater purpose for being out here working with young people. He’s got a very bright future! Our entire staff is absolutely loaded with outstanding young men who have their priorities in order. We’re so thankful for the great work they are doing with our students!” commented THBA GM Brian Justine.
Murphy was a regular at THBA summer camps growing up. He went onto play for THBA Director Frank Torre at Dwyer HS. His outstanding performance and rocket right arm have earned him a scholarship to pitch ad Division I Jacksonville University. Congratulations to Ruairi Murphy on his many accomplishments and being honored as July’s featured THBA coach.
